So when snow comes in the middle of constructing a large outdoor hardscape scene, you have to try to cover it. When it’s as big a project as this waterfall is, the cover better be just as big! And it was!
I know many of you who have been here are trying to “picture” where this waterfall is on the property, and others are a little confused as to it’s size also. It’s always hard to judge overall size and scale from drawings, and plans. For me, once contraction starts I’m sometimes just as confused by the scale of things. Photos don’t do this justice at all – using wide angle lenses to give you the overall scene as close up as possible can distort the image, and even make it look larger. Not that it’s not large, mind you.
So this morning while they were taking the tarp off to start trying to get back on track I thought I would snap a few quick photos to show you the scale from the driveway. Since this is closer to the house, but on the woods side of the driveway it’s tucked between some larger trees and will be both a fantastic look for the business while also accentuating the property lines and the wood line nicely. The plantings will be fantastic around this also, but even bare of that the stone is complimenting the overall landscape beautifully. I’m beyond thrilled with there this is going and can’t wait to see plants in there too…well, and some water that isn’t ice, LOL.
So these are quick snaps from about 30 minutes ago now…and I have my team here to work all day, while I’m in the other field getting wildflowers FINALLY in the ground. So a very busy day for outdoor prep for Patty Schuchman Photography and hopefully at the end of the day we have even more to share!!
