Surrounded by family…generations all together – that’s a wonderful picture, isn’t it? Even better when you get a chance to capture it all forever with a photograph! Brad contacted me a while back wanting a holiday session when his whole family would be together – it would be a big group – up to 15 people and two dogs. Many photographers won’t work over the holidays, but I believe my job is even more important at the holiday time. Without compromise to my own family, I’m happy to help others collect and capture wonderful memories. Brad and Carolyn were wonderful to work with – from our first meeting in their home to scope out the best room for the session, to putting together a shooting plan of the day with mini setups they’d like to have – to the day we arrived and how they allowed me to basically rearrange their whole family room and take over their space! I even had to move the Christmas presents, and they never complained at all.
This was a FUN family. They enjoyed each other, and that showed. And the dogs! A Boxer and a Beagle – and just absolutely adorable! Hank (the Beagle) was a little bit of a food thief and had to be watched carefully, but Calloway, (the Boxer), was a perfect gentlemen. He actually seemed to pose! For those of you who know me, you know I have Border Collies myself, but I’d have to say if I was to consider a different breed, I’d have an easy job of falling in love with a Boxer.
Here are just two to tease the family – I’m working on your gallery of proofs and I’m excited to show you in the next few days. Families like you guys are why I love my job! Thank you for letting me be a part of your holiday and I hope you LOVE your preview and your proofs in your gallery!
Family and large group photography can be challenging – from the space needed to photograph and pose and light properly, to controlling the background, to controlling the subjects – but patience and experience and yes, having fun with it are all crucial components. If you are interested in a large group family photo, give a call and let’s see if your home and your group can make a great photo …. with a little help from me and my equipment. I’d love to help your family capture forever memories!
